Cost of living in Kuala Lumpur?
I'm potentially moving to Kuala Lumpur to work for an IT company in a few months and wondering what kind of living I would experience with what roughly works out to 1450 MYR/month. I'm only working for a year as an internship before I move back to the UK. I don't drink or smoke, don't intend to do very much shopping for clothes, gadgets etc, not a fussy eater and am generally laid back about accomodation as long as it's clean. I would like internet but it's not a must. Is 1450 MYR/month reasonable or is that too little? Are there also any sites where I could look at potential accomodation? Thanks. Cheers!

Too little. Renting a room will be around RM600-RM1k. Renting a flat will be more than RM1k. Plus your transportation and food, it is definitely not enough.
2 :
at least Rm3500 to Rm500
3 :
Check for room rental here http://www.propnet.com.my/ for standard/budget type http://www.iproperty.com.my/ for premium type At least 600 on food even if you are thrifty Internet 99 for 1.2mbps, mobile phone 50 Get a roommate to halve your rental Good luck

too little rent house about RM1000++ ur food per month RM300++ cheap food tranpot RM120++ Gas Rm250++ any more ! like tol about Rm3000~Rm5000+++ enought to living in kuala lumpur

Generally, MYR1450 is very little to live in Kuala Lumpur. You might opt for room rental, which can be as cheap as MYR250 per month. Check this website to find a room for rent. http://www.pjnet.com.my/forum-10.html Public transportation maybe around MYR5 per day. Meals probably MYR15 per day.

Wow. Living in the city for a meager 1450 MYR/ month..?? No can do, my friend. You'll need AT LEAST double that amount. Even with your laidback/ minimal lifestyle it just won't do.

hey! malaysian here too! :) i think you need to apply for a permit.
2 :
You need to apply for a visa to live and work in Australia.
3 :
You absolutely need a visa to work in Australia! You might want to research the Australia Skilled Visa. The Basic Requirements for an Australia Skilled Visa include: -Age - you must be under 45 when you apply; -English language - you should have sufficient ability in the English language to work in Australia (at least at a vocational level); -Qualifications - you must have post-secondary qualifications and your skills must be assessed by the relevant assessing authority as suitable for your nominated occupation; -Nominated occupation - when you apply you nominate a skilled occupation, which fits your skills and qualifications. Your nominated occupation must be found on the Skilled Occupations List. The list can be found at: http://www.visabureau.com/australia/skilled-occupation-list.aspx -Recent work experience - the period of work experience required will vary depending on the number of points you may be granted for your nominated occupation; -Australian qualification exemption - you do not need to meet the work experience requirement if you have completed an Australian qualification less than 6 months before lodging your visa application; and -Skills assessment - before you apply, you must have your skills assessed by the Australian assessing authority designated to assess your nominated occupation. -Health assessment - you should be of reasonably good health and all applicants must have their health assessed by a panel doctor and undergo a medical examination: http://www.visabureau.com/australia/visa-health-requirements.aspx -Character assessment - you should be of good character and this too will be assessed: http://www.visabureau.com/australia/criminal-record.aspx For more information, read: http://www.visabureau.com/australia/visa-requirement.aspx

Where can i get program in Marketing in Kuala Lumpur? has been rejected by many university college.?
Let me bring you up to date. After I received my Diploma in Fine Art from the Malaysian Institute of Art in year 1997 (my major was Painting), I accepted a job in the Department store in Singapore as a Display Artist. After 1 year I’d been promoted to Marketing, Advertising and Promotion department as an Assistant Officer. Which after 4 year, I’d back to Kuala Lumpur and worked as Project leader in Creative company for another 4 years. I accepted a job offer from another creative company (A subsidiary member of KLSE, Malaysia) as Marketing Executive last May, 2006. Our companies are specialist and offer a comprehensive range of service in the Theme façade and Theme Park construction industry. We are able to provide one stop Turnkey design and built solutions for our clients. I wish to upgrade myself in marketing field to contributing my good services to my company. Therefore, I’m writing this letter and seeking your counsel.

You should be well equipped with so many years of working experience. Don't understand why would you need another paper to assist you in marketing? Marketing is all about fresh ideas in promoting or marketing a product. Sure you have picked up some ideas along the way. Would you truely believe that a school can help you understand marketing better? Why not just go to any bookstore and buy up some reading materials about marketing? Or meet more people from all ages to explore their innovative minds. That way maybe you could spark yourself with more new ideas. Unless if you are rich, I think going back to school would not harm. There are many business colleges and schools around like Sunway Uni Col, Monash, KBU, KDU, etc. UPM is also one of the best business school in Malaysia. No harm trying. Good luck.

For your input for the criteria of your ideal working place for you and your family, Singapore will be a better contender as Singapore has a convenient transport network, great food as Singapore is a melting pot of all Asian cuisine. Cost of living wise is still quite reasonable compared to western standard. Government efficient wise, Singapore is the best. For interesting culture, Singapore has 4 interesting cultures. For cleanliness and safety, Singapore tops it all.
3 :
i choose singapore

You'll have more savings if you choose Kuala Lumpur. Plenty of good international school. Regulation and govt are adequate. Cleanliness, my impressions are better then Bangkok but little less then the other two. For safety it is also better then Bangkok. Culture, Malaysia is between Thailand and Singapore. You'll have Malay culture as well as parts of Indonesian, China and Indian. .

If I were you I'd choose between Kuala Lumpur and Singapore. I would never prefer Bangkok over KL or Singapore, although I have been there 3 times, and it is a great city, but for families, for living, its much much better to settle down in KL or Singapore. I can describe KL and Singapore easily, since they're really similar. they are both extremely modern and tidy. You can't see a cigarette butt on the sidewalks, and you can't find any carbage thrown on the roads. Both countries are really safe, and also really interesting. Their culture is fascinating. Kuala Lumpur is a little bit cheaper than Singapore, but Singapore is cheap too. For instance, a bottle of soda costs 25 US cents, and McDonalds is the cheapest in the world. (In KL a Big Mac Meal costs 2.50 american dollars.)-In Singapore a bottle of soda is less than 1 dollar. In Singapore education is on a higher standard than in Kuala Lumpur, but it doesn't mean the Malaysian schools are bad. (if I had a choice I wouldn't hesitate taking my kids to a school in KL at once) You need to know that the University of Singapore is one of the best ones in the whole world. As a tourist I prefered KL, because there's just more life in it, Singapore is a bit too organized and "too clean", if you know what I mean. Kuala Lumpur has many great places to see, beautiful old churches, and at the same time, high tech skyscrapers. KL is said to be the greenest capital of the world. Although there are many cars buildings in the downtown, walking on the streets you can feel like being in a jungle, with all the green trees and flowers around you. People are very helpful, but they don't smile. I haven't been to Hongkok yet, but it must be a cool place too:) good luck
