kl is not that big so you should take the opportunity to visit the surroundings too. this is the suggest maximum days in kl if you have the time. days1-3 (in kl itself): visit the national museum, islamic art museum, orang asli musem, history museum, national art galery, national mosque, merdeka square, national monument, the twin towers, kl tower, eye on malaysia, butterfly and bird park, tuanku abdul rahman memorial and thean hou temple, chan see shu yuen temple. little india and jamek mosque. in the evening, 1. visit chow kit road at night and explore see the markets and how local shop around. 2. china town for fake branded items at the nite market and also sri mahamariamman temple. 3. kampong baru (a village settlement smacked right in the heart of the city)- enjoy glorious food there. 4. bintang walk and also jalan alor along bukit bintang area . day 4 (surrounding areas): go to batu caves (an impressive huge hindu temple about 30 min away from kl) in the evening visit the famous firefly swamp which is located at Kampong Kuantan, near Kuala Selangor. From sundown until 11:30 p.m., the local community at Kampong Kuantan run a series of small, gondola-like boats that go back and forth over stretches of river lined by trees filled with thousands of fireflies (known locally as "kelip-kelip.") In the mating call of the male fireflies, the blinking lights are amazingly synchronized, providing the viewer with a spectacular, natural light show. This is apparently one of the few places on earth where this phenomenon occurs. The boat trip itself, which lasts about half an hour, is a calm and relaxing ride. A trip out to Kampong Kuantan, some 56 kilometers from KL, takes well over an hour, so it usually makes sense to combine it with a dinner at one of Kuala Selangor's fine seafood restaurants. day 5: visit putrajaya (the new gov administrative city about 45min away from kl) and visit Perdana Putra, Putra Mosque, Putra Bridge, Putrajaya Independence Square, Millennium Monument, Palace of Justice, Seri Perdana, Seri Perdana Bridge, Putrajaya Landmark, Putrajaya Wetlands Park. take a cruise on the lake.

you can spend how much day as you want here..when you feel bored, you free to go..no offense..KL got too much thing to do..you won't regret at here..
3 :
In Kuala Lumpur, 3 days is sufficient. If you like shopping, you can catch up at the Bukit Bintang Area, Mid Valley or One Utama. Otherwise, you can visit the Petronas Twin Tower, KL Tower and Putrajaya. Enjoy Malaysia.
