what part time job can i do in kuala lumpur as a student?
Im from Ireland and im 29. I am going to start studying in University Malaya, doing a Masters in Biotechnology. I would like to work a little maybe 1 day a week in KL so that i can make some extra money...what can i do??

is it normal/ok to live with my boyfriend and his family
is it normal/ok to live with my boyfriend and his family?
i am currently living with my boyfriend and his family as i have just started working in kuala lumpur, Malaysia, which is 300km away from my house. i am looking for a place for myself btw....so is it weird?or is it normal? his parents invited me to stay there and gave me my own room..

im in texas, and that is prolly more normal than a young married couple living in a house. due to low min wage, ect.. were living in hard times and mommy is always there to fall back on.

Personally I think it is a bad idea. Playing house may seem really cool but it doesn't prepare you for marriage. I watched both my sister's do this. They said it would give them more info. first. Both lived with guys for years, married and divorced. One of the problems was that in living together, everything was 50/50. Once they got married that didn't change. In reality married is seldom 50/50 at any time. It shifts constantly but when one of them became pregnant he wasn't prepared to pick up the bills and expected her to work once the baby was born and she expected a traditional home. They hadn't discussed their expectations in all those years before. I realize I'm a dinosaur in my thinking but you aren't married. Playing like you are is not a safe bet. In marriage you help each other through the rough times, for better or worse. In living together if it isn't fun all the time you just leave. Where is the security and love? Have more respect for yourself and demand more from him that just using you. I'm sure I'll get flamed for this but it is the truth as I see it. You deserve better.

You are living in a different country with different cultural standards in many non-european foreign countries they have much stricter moral standards than Americans. It is a good idea not to live there especially if the parents didn't invite you to. That goes for here in the US too.

it sounds like they are OK with it, but it doesn't seem as if you are entirely OK with it. Malaysia is, to my knowledge, relatively conservative (and mostly Muslim). many conservative cultures frown on women having their own apartments, there is a tendency to assume that shenanigans are taking place. Either they are just being nice and generous, or perhaps they feel they are trying to protect you or your reputation (which might extend to them, in some odd way). Can you tell which it is? If they are conservative, they also might expect marriage to be imminent....
