Hi, I have an offer of RM 3000 from a marketing research company in Malaysia for working as Project Manager.?
I am currently working in India as Project Manager,in Gurgaon, for a MR company. I would like to know if the Malaysian offer, of RM 3000, is worthwhile to make a shift from India to Malaysia. What is cost of living in Malaysia like, will I be able to save enough to send back home or barely survive with RM 3000. Also what are pay packages like in Malaysia, Kuala Lumpur for PM in MR? I really need help as I do not know any one living in Malaysia. Please send your responses soon as I have to get back to the company with my answer....

Hi there, are u being offered more than what you're currently earning? RM3000 is pretty low.. it's equivalent to only US$875.. I suggest u not to switch since the pay is too little and further more you don't know anyone there. I'm from Singapore, so the cost of living in KL should be quite similar. Only in non-city areas in msia would the cost of living be much cheaper. U still have to consider accomodation and etc.. I'm not too sure about the market rate for PM in MR but a standard package should at least be RM4000. Unless there's a huge difference, or you're a really thrifty person, I say stick to your current one as it's more convenientas your offer is really not enough.

If the company offers you the following in addition to the RM3,000 then you can accept the offer. 1. Company car plus petrol and maintenance of the car. 2. Company paid accommodation. 3. Company pays for your income taxes. 4. Company pays for your air passage at the end of your contract, or at least once a year. 5. Company provides and pays for your mobile phone subscription. RM3,000 alone without any other benefits is too low a salary for a Project Manager. Expenses: Food: A typical meal could cost you anywhere between RM5 to RM8. Traveling: If the company pays for your local traveling, then budget RM150 to RM200 a month for your personal traveling. Else, budget RM400 to RM600. If the company provides you with a car + petrol + maintenance and you are allowed to use this car for your personal traveling, then you can ignore this expense. Accommodation: Renting a decent room in the city center could cost you anywhere between RM350 to RM700 Mobile phone service: Anywhere between RM30 to RM200 a month.

Medical student in Dublin wondering why she coudnt get a summer job
Medical student in Dublin wondering why she coudnt get a summer job.?
Hi, this is just a q's in my head actually but I would like to share it with others. I am a medical student from Kuala Lumpur studying medicine in one of the top university in Dublin. As a medical student, I believe i posess very strong skills( at least something). I wonder why I didnt get any job even I have send my cv to most of the stores and shops. Is it because I am an Asian student or is it because I am wearing scarves as I am a muslim and maybe some ppl taught I might not be suitable working in the shops (eg; fashion department). I am soo frustrated and maybe also some ppl taught I didnt posses good english skills but as a medical studnt I have attended a lot of english exams to grant for my scholarship to study in europe. pls give ur opinion. thanks! =)

Maybe who you are and where you are from is not as important here as where you going and who you are going to become. Instead of applying at stores and shops, maybe you should send those CV's to clinics or hospitals who could use someone with your knowledge and skills. how to help an Indonesian girl?
she is a maid run away she is now in kuala lumpur i thought of the Indonesian embassy to help her do u have any better suggestions plz thanks NOTE: she ran away cuz people she was working for didnt treat her well + they didnt pay her for 1 year i knew that cuz she is the friend of my maid and im not in malaysia

wow that's bad. Indonesian maids in Malaysia usually come from villages in Java. They are very shy and quite to other people. I think she probably ran to someone she knows best, maybe her best friend in KL (could be a maid too). Other option she might have ran away to the port to get a ship back to Indonesia since she has no money. It's a really complicated problem. Try to contact again the Indonesian embassy if needed. Report to local housing block security, or if there is no, contact the police.

Unfortunately domestic violence isn't just limited to immediate family members and these days it extended to the maids that worked for them. These kind of cases happened a lot and the Indonesian Embassy won't be able to help that much am afraid. Sadly I've heard lots of cases like this not only in Malaysia but from other places such as HK, Singapore and Saudi etc. Its a matter of human's basic rights but then again we tend to ignore it in Asia! ;]]] If the employee goes through an agent, would be better off for you to just ask the girl to contact her agent that found her the work to get in touch with her former employee and hope that they could resolve it. Worse comes to worse you could suggest to her that she lawyered up and sue her former employee to demand her pay. Hope this helps.

She can file a complain with the Indonesian embassy.(Jalan Ampang opposite the American embassy - refer to Google map for exact location) The embassy have facilities to house her temporary in their maids protection home while waiting for investigation. Tell her not to be afraid as she is not alone in facing such problems while working in Malaysia.

Do nothing more than to ask her to go to the Embassy of Indonesia. That's her ONLY way out.
