Some kindergartens are such lame! why
Some kindergartens are such lame! why?
hi, some of u may know that im a male kindergarten teacher from kuala lumpur, malaysia. my question is why some kindergartens (mostly all kindys) cant or wont hire male? please read it! it may sounds interesting after u read it! when i was unemployed, i called several calls from the kindergarents that wants to hire a teacher but as soon as i called, they said something that hurted me like "we cant hire male", "we wont hire male", "oh,so u the one who wants to become the teacher? sorry, we cant hire male worker" etc. AND the worse one is "we cant hire male . cause male dont have the love and care that a female can give to children!" whoa! thats just hurted me so much! after a few weeks, i saw a vacancy to hire a kindy teacher but i gave up cause i think they wont hire me like the previous one. but suddenly,a wind just blew me and i just changed my mind and called the kindy and the principal would like to meet me in person. so i went there and he said to me, "whoa! after hearing what u had said, u are quite impressed me! u love children a lot and u love teaching a lot too. i can see that u are a responsible and hardworking type of person. i hired a few teachers before (all females) and they just quite after a few months! i believe that u can work even longer!" i was like, "omg"! this is something that i wont expect a principal would told me but i was happy and im still happy right now. so, back to the question. why do u think some of the kindergartens or principals wont hire male? and what u think of it? a former male teacher (a year) a current male kindergarten teacher ( a year)

It's unfortunate in todays society that male kindergarten teachers are not given the same opportunities as female teachers. Unfortunately, a lot of it has to do with the reputation that males have developed in society. Young children are often told that males are "strangers" and not to go near them, especially if they are little girls, because their parents are worried about rape, molestation, kidnapping, etc. Also, many young children feel uncomfortable around all adult males, and that makes it even more difficult for males to get hired as kindergarten teachers. Parents often are concerned that males will not be as nurturing as female kindergarten teachers, or that their children might be touched inappropriately by a male teacher. Some parents are skiddish and just don't want to leave their children with a male adult. Unfortunately a "few bad eggs" have ruined it for most male kindergarten teachers. Personally, I think there are just as many awful female teachers as there are male teachers, and female teachers are just as abusive in many cases (all though we rarely hear about them). I knew a guy who taught 2 year olds, and he was the best teacher that the class ever had. Once the male builds the kids trust, the parents trust follows soon there after. It's unfortunate they are discriminated against.

it is most likely the age, because they-the kindies, havent' really been away from their mothers at all since they were born, they-the people in charge of hiring probably see female teachers as being more nurturing like mom would be to kids at that age. So it is probably a mothery concept and nothing personal that affects their decision. Stereotypical I know but it may be why I don't know.

There is definitely stereotyping going on there! That is why it is hard for a male to get employed as a Teacher. It should not matter what gender, race or age…… a person is if they are qualified and able to do the job. If you continue to have these problems and still want to work with children than I would suggest you think about working on another career; in health care you can specialize in an area where you will be assisting children. I feel the only way you will be happy and comfortable as a Teacher is to move to the United States where it is against the law to discriminate on anyone because of their race, gender, religion, ethnicity, or disability. I feel so sorry for you. Maybe you can spend some of your free time on researching on how to change or make a new law in your country. Good luck sweetie. : )

It isn't surprising. Iran is a Shiite country, and not Sunni, so Shirin Ebadi might talk about some stuff that is against Shiites or something negative about them. Iran's government might claim to be based on Islamic principles, when in fact they aren't. It's just punch of nonsense from them.

Isn't it amazing how the above poster blames the Shias? In fact, (strict) Shia Islam is more lenient than (strict) Sunni Islam. If anything, Ebadi would offend Sunnism more. But blame the Jews as always. These stuff happen in all Muslim countries in the name of Islam. But Allah's plausible deniability is limitless.

Looking for long lost friends in Pakistan International Airlines
Looking for long lost friends in Pakistan International Airlines?
Is there anyone who can assist? I am trying to find some old friends who i have lost touch with , one used to work in PIA cargo and used to travel to Asia often, especially Manila. (this is about 30 years ago. The other friend used to be a pilot and was based in Kuala Lumpur, i think with MAS and then with PIA. He married a friend of mine. Unfortunately i have lost touch with all of them as we all moved overseas. I would really like to find them again. I called the HR Director in PIA in the HD office, at first he was polite but when he found out it was a personal request he was very rude, he said he couldnt help me and hung up on me! If there is anyone out there who might be able to assist, pls drop me a line. Thank you.

Search on google for the International White Pages or something like that. If it is that important though, search for backround checks, but I think its ony possible to search people in the USA for BC's. But... If you still want to try, they are expensive though. Try calling a different line. And say a reason they'll believe. =)

Here in the USA, it is illegal to discriminate against origin, or for any other reason. Everyone has a chance. It is wrong what they did to you. I'm glad you found at least one principal who gave you a chance. :-) I'm not sure how it is in your Country, but perhaps the people over there are just scared of the unfamiliar. May be it's out of the norm for a 'male' kindergarten teacher? It's hard to say since I don't live there. It is definitely not right how those other schools treated you and discriminated against you because you're male. And a man can give just as much nurturing to a child as a woman can! So never give up with what you are passionate about! You will always encounter idiots like those others, that's just a part of this lifetime, sad but true; but never give up! :-)

u have the answer before "we cant hire male . cause male don't have the love and care that a female can give to children!" ya, thats basically the reason. i believe in it also and because we look men as a tough guy or they rarely care most or they less sensitive or caring than a woman. if it were me, i'm wondering does a man know how to take care of kids, because in all condition, basically its all left to the woman. and it is a nature for woman to have those caring and loving personality without being harsh to other, i mean kids because we saw woman as a soft hearted person but its differ from man. we see man as a tough person and not dealing with this kind of thing like emotional thing, caring, loving because man hardly show it. but one clear thing is, it is about the perception of Malaysian. the Malaysian is still narrow minded, think that everything should stick like that forever without having changes. They think that a woman job cant be done by a man..but hey, u did it ^_^

As a mom, I wouldn't want a male teacher taking my daughter to the toilet and clean her after she poops. Or help her dress up for concerts. Not discriminating against male teachers, but just being extremely cautious in this day and age of rampant sex crimes.

hi, some of u may know that im a male kindergarten teacher from kuala lumpur, malaysia. my question is why some kindergartens (mostly all kindys) cant or wont hire male? please read it! it may sounds interesting after u read it! when i was unemployed, i called several calls from the kindergarents that wants to hire a teacher but as soon as i called, they said something that hurted me like "we cant hire male", "we wont hire male", "oh,so u the one who wants to become the teacher? sorry, we cant hire male worker" etc. AND the worse one is "we cant hire male . cause male dont have the love and care that a female can give to children!" whoa! thats just hurted me so much! after a few weeks, i saw a vacancy to hire a kindy teacher but i gave up cause i think they wont hire me like the previous one. but suddenly,a wind just blew me and i just changed my mind and called the kindy and the principal would like to meet me in person. so i went there and he said to me, "whoa! after hearing what u had said, u are quite impressed me! u love children a lot and u love teaching a lot too. i can see that u are a responsible and hardworking type of person. i hired a few teachers before (all females) and they just quite after a few months! i believe that u can work even longer!" i was like, "omg"! this is something that i wont expect a principal would told me but i was happy and im still happy right now. so, back to the question. why do u think some of the kindergartens or principals wont hire male? and what u think of it? a former male teacher (a year) a current male kindergarten teacher ( a year)

Here in the USA, it is illegal to discriminate against origin, or for any other reason. Everyone has a chance. It is wrong what they did to you. I'm glad you found at least one principal who gave you a chance. :-) I'm not sure how it is in your Country, but perhaps the people over there are just scared of the unfamiliar. May be it's out of the norm for a 'male' kindergarten teacher? It's hard to say since I don't live there. It is definitely not right how those other schools treated you and discriminated against you because you're male. And a man can give just as much nurturing to a child as a woman can! So never give up with what you are passionate about! You will always encounter idiots like those others, that's just a part of this lifetime, sad but true; but never give up! :-)

tourist visas for asia: pls help
tourist visas for asia: pls help?
me and my husband are planning a train trip over xmas, arriving in kuala lumpur by plane (one of us is aussie, one of us italian but live permanently in australia) and then we will be taking the train til vietnam but stopping here and there. How do visas work if we are not arriving with planes? Do we have to do visas before arriving? I know that Malaysia and Thailand do not require visas but how about cambodia and vietnam? Can anyone shed some light pls? Thanks heaps indeed.

It seems that you need to apply visa before you go to enter Vietnam, because no such visa exemptions for Australian or Italian. For Cambodia it is possible to obtain visa on arrival on certain points of entry or otherwise apply for the e-visa.

How many days should I spend in Thailand and my other places
How many days should I spend in Thailand and my other places?
So I fly into Kuala Lumpur first Then I will land in Krabi then I will go to Phi Phi or another island, then to Phuket. (I can land in Phuket or Krabi and fly out of both) (I could just go to Phuket and island hop) After I will head to Bangkok to see Tiger Temple and go up to Chang Mai for a bit of jungle exploring on elephants and rafting and seeing traditional thing, then back to Bangkok for fly out to Macau, where I get ferry to HK, lastly to London my destination where I got a work visa. Yes I am aussie.

please please please dont become a tick list traveller! been there done that tick! you've listed some great places but just spend some time and relax maybe a month? depends what youre doing in malaysia, if i were you and travelling in that direction i'd grab a flight from KL to borneo sabah, and see some truely amazing rainforest, orangutans, hornbills, probiscus monkeys sound good? and why not tell your friends you climbed south east asia's highest peak, kinabalu! is very manageable no actual climbing involved!! then yes if you want beach thailand does beach well! grab a flight up north straight to phuket or krabi and venture out to phi phi, theres a national park called khao sok not far from there if you want nature and never made it to borneo (though please do its gorgeous) bangkok worth a couple of days then chang mai. .... if i were you and fancied that then 1 week borneo, 1 week beaches, 3-4 days bangkok, week chang mai and surrounding, and a week in hong kong/macau stay in kowloon way cheaper i stayed in chungking mansions, cheap and clean if you shop around a couple!

So all in it will be at least 3 weeks in Thailand. Add the KL and HK, this will make a month stay before you head to London.

Some kindergartens are such lame! why
Some kindergartens are such lame! why?
hi, some of u may know that im a male kindergarten teacher from kuala lumpur, malaysia. my question is why some kindergartens (mostly all kindys) cant or wont hire male? please read it! it may sounds interesting after u read it! when i was unemployed, i called several calls from the kindergarents that wants to hire a teacher but as soon as i called, they said something that hurted me like "we cant hire male", "we wont hire male", "oh,so u the one who wants to become the teacher? sorry, we cant hire male worker" etc. AND the worse one is "we cant hire male . cause male dont have the love and care that a female can give to children!" whoa! thats just hurted me so much! after a few weeks, i saw a vacancy to hire a kindy teacher but i gave up cause i think they wont hire me like the previous one. but suddenly,a wind just blew me and i just changed my mind and called the kindy and the principal would like to meet me in person. so i went there and he said to me, "whoa! after hearing what u had said, u are quite impressed me! u love children a lot and u love teaching a lot too. i can see that u are a responsible and hardworking type of person. i hired a few teachers before (all females) and they just quite after a few months! i believe that u can work even longer!" i was like, "omg"! this is something that i wont expect a principal would told me but i was happy and im still happy right now. so, back to the question. why do u think some of the kindergartens or principals wont hire male? and what u think of it? a former male teacher (a year) a current male kindergarten teacher ( a year)

Some of this may have to do with stereotypes about how males and females relate to children. Many people (not just kindergarten principals) think that parenting is essentially a female occupation, and that women naturally have a "maternal instinct" that is not duplicated in the male. The other issue is molestation. You hear a lot more stories about men who molest children than you do about women, and stepfathers seem particularly prominent in the news for molesting and abusing their stepdaughters. Therefore, a lot of people think that while women are maternal toward all children, men may be paternal toward their own offspring, but not necessarily toward other people's children. This may be the attitude of the principal, or s/he may be concerned about how parents will react. Many parents would not hire a male babysitter or leave their children alone with a male relative, so they might pull their children out of a kindergarten with a male teacher.

Judging by your grammar, it has more to do with your intelligence than what is between your legs. If what you say is true though, you need to take legal action.

She said at least three or four call center workers visit her clinic every week to get tested for HIV because they are worried after having unprotected sex. It is estimated that India's call centers employ some 1.3 million people, mostly youths fresh out of school and colleges, earning a starting salary of 25,000 rupees (US$600) a month, more than a government doctor's paycheck. "You will see call center Romeos are a major high risk for HIV," Solomon said. There are no figures for how many call center workers are infected with HIV. hello, in couple of years, I plan on moving to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. I am a sunni-muslim citizen of both Pakistan and Canada. I am finishing up my bachelors degree in computer science in Canada and Inshallah will do my masters in a related field. I plan on working in the IT/computer science field in Malaysia. I have a job at a company in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. When I got the job, the boss just called me in for an interview and told me that the big boss had agreed to hire me and that I would start work on the 2nd of January. I didn't see any contract. When I started, I didn't see a contract either. I worked for 2 months and never saw a contract. I only saw the contract when I needed it for Immigration. I signed it quickly as I needed to get to the Immigration Office. I only read through it properly later. I discovered the following clause: "The minimum length of contract for 1 year effective ____________. If you resign before the expiry of the contract, there will be a compensation of two (2) months OR MORE of your salary to the company." (Emphasis mine) Has anyone heard of this before? Do companies in Malaysia or anywhere do this? Is this a legal requirement which would stand up in court? My wife wants to go back to New Zealand (where I'm from) for work. I want to go with her. So is there any way to get out of this contract without having to pay RM4000 (which I don't have) to the company? The previous receptionist was able to leave without paying for "personal problems" back home in China. Would I have a legal defence? I did not know about the "compensation" when I joined the company. I was told nothing about this and I wasn't shown a contract when I signed on. Can they do this? Any help here would be good.

Each clauses must be fully explained From your questions , neither was done If i were you and will leave this country for good , i will take the pay check by end of the month and leave the country the very next day. The company tied such clause in order to recoup their EPF , Insurance and their work permit agent . But most employee do not realise that those fees are already deducted from their salary . This explains as to why foreigners are getting low pay and raw deals. Hopefully they ( the company) are not in possesion of your passport. Pardon my language as i will say Screw them.

Could he be the thief
Could he be the thief?
My dad's laptop was missing a few months ago. I can't remember the exact date, but I think it's probably on March or April. At that time, there was a new foreign worker working for us. He's only been working for a week. The laptop was missing the day after he saw the laptop in the drawer. The day the laptop was missing, he told my dad that he's going to be late to work cuz he's got other plans. A week later, he bought a new PSP. One of our staff asked him when did he bought it and where, he said he bought it 5 months ago at Singapore. But earlier today, his room mate showed me a purchase receipt of the PSP, and the date was on April 2008. The address stated there is Kuala Lumpur. Could he be the one who stole the laptop? What should I do now? He's young and live by himself. It's kinda hard to believe that he's got money to buy the PSP himself. Especially when he always asked for salary advance, and sometimes he would ask me if he could borrow some money (But his excuse usually was he doesn't have small change) However he never failed to pay me back. And why is he lying about when he bought the PSP? We noticed that he likes to boast on the things that he has , for example he would simply play a song from his high tech handphone in full volume so everyone would notice, but we never saw him showing off his PSP BEFORE the laptop was stolen. We're not gonna bring him to the court, well at least if we know who did it, we could at least get rid of the thief.

he may have, but it wouldnt be worth trying anything in a small claims court. there is no hard evidence unless the police are willing to follow the money trail, and that would only work with reciepts or credit card. i would still keep an eye on him though if he still works there.

He may be guilty.. but you know if you want to accuse someone of theft you do need proper evidence.. without evidence you still might do someone an injustice..Even a criminal gets a trial before he is convicted and a defense lawyer to plead his case of ''not guilty'' and a person is considered ''not guilty'' unless proven otherwise so he could be the person who stole the laptop... yes, but you cannot take legal action without proof... unfortunately.. xx

O.K.I know that car number plates vary from country to country.What I don't know is,why do US no. plates have a special background describing the state.And I also don't know how and why it keeps changing every month or year depending on how many cars are sold in the respective state.In where I live(Malaysia),the number plates are all black and the first letter represents the state.For example,WRK 0123,W represents Kuala Lumpur and RK 0123 advances every time a car is sold in this state.If you are a US resident,can you please tell me how the US no. plate works,I really like to know how US no.plates work,since almost half the cars sold in the world are in US.Thanks very much.

every U.S. state is different, I believe. every state's license plate has its name on it somewhere, usually at the top or bottom. i live in indiana, and we have our state flag as the decoration. the first two numbers represent the county in which the car is registered, and the letter/4 numbers at the end are the individual vehicle's registration number. i'm not sure how other states work.

every U.S. state is different, I believe. every state's license plate has its name on it somewhere, usually at the top or bottom. i live in indiana, and we have our state flag as the decoration. the first two numbers represent the county in which the car is registered, and the letter/4 numbers at the end are the individual vehicle's registration number. i'm not sure how other states work.

The plate design varies by state to identify where that driver is from. New number plates are issued per car every few years. If you see drivers whose car was registered in your area, you'll notice they usually have similar number combos.

Occasionally, they do change the standard plate, but this is very infrequent -- perhaps every 10 or 20 years. However, what you have seen are probably specialty plates. Usually, part of the money goes towards something shown on the plate. For example, in CA you can have a plate with the picture of a whale. Part of the money you pay for this plate goes towards wildlife protection.

According to a suspect identified only as "Cherry," some OFWs have become drug mules, specifically cocaine and heroin, to China and Europe. Cherry was rescued in Kuala Lumpur on September 12 after agreeing to become an informant. Cherry said that the drugs are put inside condoms and similar packaging and then secreted in body cavities or are swallowed by the couriers to evade detection by authorities. The couriers are then paid $2,000 to $3,000 for their services. Based on information provided by Cherry and "Ben," another informant, the Royal Malaysian Police raided the syndicate's hideout in Kuala Lumpur. Nine syndicate members, including Cherry's Nigerian boyfriend Topo Tsewelelo, were arrested, along with seven Filipinas. The Filipinas will face charges in Malaysia. Cherry said that jobless OFWs fall for this illegal trade for the money. "Dahil nga sa walang trabaho, may problema dito sa Pilipinas, may sakit ang mga anak, kumakagat sila sa mga ganung trabaho," she said. Is this a question or a grouse? Malaysians aren't so straightforward as you imply. They'll vote where it benefits them the most. Right now, it's displeasure the citizens are showing for the leadership (or lack of). That guy in question bends where the wind blows so you wonder if he's a real threat at all. Would anyone sincerely believe in his words when he changes it so frequently to suit his self-serving agenda? Malaysians aren't fools you can pull wool over so easily. The citizens are maturing now after 50 years of democracy. The old guard's diminishing, the face of politics is changing with the new generation - you should give the younger generations the benefit of doubt. Anyway, BN will recoup their losses - for sure. They haven't been top-dog for nothing all these years. At least they will put up a strong fight now that they've eaten humble pie, they'll learn not to rest on their laurels. The rakyat has made sure the message has gotten across this time. The reason why PAS has such a strong showing this time is because the people were united in their disfavour for the leadership. If PAS takes the hardline where religion and state is concerned, they'll not be reelected the next round. The opposition won this time because of the multi-racial, mutli-religious platform. Those who have the financial means to stand on their own two feet should be made to - they shouldn't be receiving anymore bumi benefits cos they don't need them anymore - already too rich at the expense of the poor. Remove these archaic priveleges and look at the income generation ability of the household to give aid to regardless of race or creed. You know, and everyone knows that its no longer solely the malay race who are economically disadvantaged as they were post-colonial times. You have poverty across all races now. Cut also govt spending on educating those who don't deserve and give aid to those who put in the work to get good results, and who can hold their own in foreign universites and can win awards for their scholastic abilities and not sponsor just because of their skin colour. Giving free education to them doesn't equate to equipping the labour force with effective workers as the track record shows. If cannot cut, make them accountable for results! No free rides on this earth man!

To make the answer simple , it is a YES and NO. Yes, Pas can and be able to set up islamic state but not at federal level. I have been to Kelantan, it is not bad. Except cant buy 4D over there.And Pas dont supports the NEP.As NEP is clearly against islam. Pas alone by itself CANT grabs any states unless the state happens to have majority malays and that is a fact. As for the police, we have to revamps it .This is why we need the IPCMC in place.The real IPCMC , not the fake version as suggested by bodohwi and nazi. To make the answer simple , it is a YES and NO. Yes, Pas can and be able to set up islamic state but not at federal level. I have been to Kelantan, it is not bad. Except cant buy 4D over there.And Pas dont supports the NEP.As NEP is clearly against islam. Pas alone by itself CANT grabs any states unless the state happens to have majority malays and that is a fact. As for the police, we have to revamps it .This is why we need the IPCMC in place.The real IPCMC , not the fake version as suggested by bodohwi and nazi. As for bn and umno , they are getting weaker and all sorts of cracks appeared.Naturally they will tumbles down. No need to be in umno in order to be in power. Do consider umno to be part of relic suitable for a museum.It is already happening. So sit down and watch their circus. As for inflation, it is very difficult to contain it.As it is a world wide syndrome. Other types of helps will be to abolish road tolls and to abolish duties / tax on food , business licenses ,get rid of NEP . Most important factor that hinders any government in the world is Rasuah. still dont understand? OK very simple to all the above- Change the Government.
